Follow Sir Robert McAlpine on social media as we celebrate our volunteers and their impact on communities.
Join us in celebrating Volunteers’ Week as we shine the spotlight on some of our incredible colleagues who have been using Sir Robert McAlpine’s volunteering days to support local charities. This year marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), and we’re proudly standing alongside thousands of charities and businesses to honour volunteers and inspire more individuals to donate their time to charities and voluntary organisations across the UK. We hope to encourage people to be the change that we want to see and get involved in volunteering in ways that resonate with them.
The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering, so celebrating the wonderful people who have donated their time to contribute to local communities has never been more important.
At Sir Robert McAlpine, we are committed to making a positive, long lasting impact on local communities where we operate. Enabling our people to take 4 volunteering days each year empowers them to actively get involved, donate their time, and collectively put our skills and expertise at the service of a better future.
Through our Strong Foundations Grants, we have also been funding nearly 100 grassroots projects via ActionFunder, reaching more than 70,000 beneficiaries around the country and making a significant impact on local communities near our sites.
Sir Robert McAlpine’s volunteering days allow me to work closely with children who need support with their reading through the Chapter One programme.
