Double honours at the BCO awards
11 Oct 2024The Forge picked up top honours in the Innovation category, whilst 1 New Park Square (Edinburgh Park) was named winner of the Commercial Workplace Award.
Congratulations to our team at The Forge in London who have received more industry accolades: 'Most Innovative Commercial Project' at Building Innovation Awards and 'Digital Excellence Award' at the Building Awards.
The Forge is a 150,000ft2 high-specification office development in Southwark, London, and represents the client Landsec's desire to drive industry leaving innovation.
That innovation is at the heart of the Forge, with the team challenging tradition in the pursuit of engineering excellence. The Forge will be the first commercial building in the UK to be net zero carbon both in construction and operation, with a 25% reduction in embodied carbon compared to 'business as usual' design.
These most recent award wins recognise the work of the MAM (Manufacturing and Assembly Manager) joint venture team of Sir Robert McAlpine and Mace, driving forth Landsec's ambition raise the standard for construction.
The Digital Excellence award recognised the team for taking advantage of digital technology to pioneer innovative new ways of delivering their construction project more efficiently, predictably, and of better quality.
