Building social value at TQEC
11 Jul 2025With skills shortages affecting every area of the construction industry, it’s vital that young people feel involved with the projects taking place across our cities.
We opened our doors to seven construction sites during Open Doors Week, an annual event that offers people a unique opportunity to learn about the construction industry and explore the exciting career opportunities available with Sir Robert McAlpine.
Delivered by Build UK, Open Doors Week is the leading representative organisation for the UK construction industry. This initiative brings together construction companies and educational institutions to showcase the industry to young people, job seekers and anyone looking to explore a career in construction. This year's event ran from 18th - 23rd March 2024 as seven of our live construction sites opened the doors to provide site tours, workshops, and talks. The site visits also offered insights into the latest technologies and innovations in the industry, as well as providing opportunities to talk to current employees and ask questions about their roles.
