Our Battersea Phase 3A project in London, has delivered close to £17m of social value to local projects and communities over the duration of the project.
This could not have been achieved without the input and collaboration of all the members of our team, and the buy-in of our trade contractors who helped us deliver on, and in many cases exceed, our S106 targets.
The total sum was calculated from the value derived from a range of outputs including:
As well as some 80 community and employment events organised by Sir Robert McAlpine and our trade contractors over the course of the project, they also undertook numerous fundraising, volunteering and pro-bono works including:
More recently, the team launched a large-scale Food Bank Initiative across Battersea Phase 3. With the generosity of trade contractors and colleagues, they've been able to donate more than 230 food parcels to Vauxhall Food Bank and aim to continue by supporting Wandsworth Food Bank over the coming weeks.
This has seen more fantastic collaboration from our project team, with Clipfine facilitating large deliveries to site and J Coffey kindly volunteering to drop donations off to the collection point on a regular basis.
The initiative has also been highlighted by the Considerate Constructors Scheme as an example of Best Practice and has been published here.
The extension opened on 1st April 1901 and contains a series of major viaducts, including the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct
The team gathered to celebrate a topping out ceremony following steels completion in late January
Last month, Rachael Smith, People and Culture Executive Director at Sir Robert McAlpine, and Katy Maloney, Trainee Quantity Surveyor, spoke at the Empowering You Conference with Forces Employment Charity.
