Building a virtual Maggie's
Each brick represents hours of vital support funded by your donations. Although we reached our £1M target early, we are continuing to raise funds to make a lasting impact on the lives of those supported by Maggie’s.
Latest fundraising efforts from our colleagues around the business have added five new bricks to our virtual Maggie's centre bringing us closer to our 100,000 hours for Maggie's goal.
After reaching our original £1m for Maggie's target in May 2022, we set ourselves a goal of funding 100,000 hours of support for Maggie’s centre visitors, which equates to £1m in cash.
To help track our progress, we are building a virtual Maggie’s in the shape of the charity's logo. Our interactive Maggie's is made up of bricks representing the number of hours of support our collective fundraising efforts would pay for.
Examples of bricks include:
£5,000 will pay for 100 hours of a Getting Started course with a support specialist for those about to embark on cancer treatment.
£15,000 will pay for 1,200 hours of family day sessions, where kids can get together with others to come to terms with mum or dad having cancer.
Every fundraising activity goes towards adding another brick into the virtual Maggie's.
Thanks go to our M6 ROM and A19 project teams whose baking efforts have collectively raised £545.
