Sir Robert McAlpine is proud to be a sponsor of Career Colleges Trust's Digital Construction project.
We selected CoGC because of our strong relationship with the college and in recognition to our Scottish roots. It was important to us to support young people with the right training, using our expertise and experience to contribute to an employer-led curriculum aligned to the future digital construction skills needed in our industry.
The Career Colleges Trust, supported by Sir Robert McAlpine, launched the Digital Construction Project to directly address the digital skills shortage in the construction industry by connecting employers and educators to work together to shape the talent needed by the industry that is critical for the employment surge over the next five years.
Over the next five years, the construction industry will need to recruit 53,200 extra workers a year according to CITB research; on top of that 500,000 staff are likely to retire by 2030.
