The Strategic Roads User Survey by Transport Focus highlights the remarkable success of the A19 DBFO Project.
The survey questioned over 9,000 road users about their recent journeys on motorways or major ‘A’ roads managed by National Highways, serving as a formal measure of user satisfaction and highlighting the exceptional performance of the A19 in the process.
Autolink Concessionaires (A19) Ltd, a Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures project, is at the forefront of delivering the A19 DBFO (Design-Build-Finance-Operate) Contract. Autolink is responsible for the strategic planning and long-term investment decisions, ensuring that the A19 is maintained in optimum condition at all times, with minimal disruption to the travelling public.
Keith Polson, Project Director, Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures, said: “The A19 Collaborative Team approach, which provides technical advice, design, and supervision for improvement and major maintenance projects, began at the inception of the DBFO contract and includes the client and members of the supply chain, fostering an environment of seamless integration and shared goals.”
Sir Robert McAlpine, which has extensive experience in Operations and Maintenance, delivers the A19 DBFO along with its integrated supply chain partners.

The results of the Strategic Roads User Survey demonstrate that the A19 excelled in two specific categories, topping the table for satisfaction with journey time at 82% and road surface quality at 89%.
