Vip Gandhi, Chair of the Stamp It Out programme, will lead the Ministerial Briefing Summit on March 11, 2025. This event brings together government, industry leaders, and law enforcement to address the growing issue of abuse faced by roadworkers.
The Stamp it Out Ministerial Briefing Summit will take place on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Science Gallery London. Led by Vip Gandhi, Managing Director of Transport and Chair of the Stamp It Out programme, this event marks a key moment in the ongoing fight against the abuse faced by roadworkers.
Since its launch in 2019, the Stamp It Out campaign has worked to highlight and tackle the increasing levels of verbal and physical abuse directed at those working on the public highway. In 2023 alone, more than 2,300 incidents were officially reported, with many more going unrecorded due to a lack of confidence that action would be taken. The impact on mental health and workforce retention is a growing concern, with three in ten workers considering leaving the industry within five years due to poor mental health.
As Chair of Stamp It Out, Vip Gandhi has been instrumental in leading the campaign’s next phase, bringing together key stakeholders, including government officials, National Highways, the National Police Chiefs Council, and Tier 1 contractors. The upcoming summit will focus on identifying practical solutions, including:
At a time when recruitment and retention in the highways sector are becoming more challenging, addressing abuse is a vital step toward ensuring a safe and sustainable workforce. Through continued collaboration, the Stamp It Out campaign aims to drive meaningful change and make the abuse of public-facing workers socially unacceptable.
