We are thrilled to make the shortlist for Carbon Reduction Champion at this year’s Construction News Awards
The annual event celebrates outstanding projects, groundbreaking innovations, and forward-thinking companies in the construction industry.
We have been cited for leading the construction industry’s NetZero transition and the exceptional progress made towards our own target to become Net Zero by 2045.
In the 2024 financial year we reduced total scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 22%, meaning we are ahead of our 2045 trajectory, and are also outperforming ConcreteZero and SteelZero industry targets for low carbon concrete and steel.
Read this recent case study of reducing carbon emissions at the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus project for the University of Bristol as an example of sustainable engineering excellence.
We’re also funding pioneering trials in alternative methods and materials, including hydrogen site-power and low-carbon steel/concrete alternatives, to improve industry-wide accessibility to low-carbon construction.
We are pleased to see Paradise Birmingham nominated in the Regeneration Project of the Year category for One Centenary Way, which Sir Robert McAlpine built for MEPC and completed in 2023.
The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on Thursday 10 July.
