With the design intent for the brick cladding to the arcade envisaging a “pleated” brick profile, our team has worked closely with Thorp Precast to develop a solution capable of delivering this innovative arrangement consistently and economically.

Ninety nine per cent of the waste generated from the demolition of a building removed to make way for the scheme was diverted from landfill. The concrete, brick and slate were crushed and reused on site.

To save on mains water consumption, groundwater arising from the water table during piling was analysed and tested before being used for dust suppression during demolition.

The company is currently working with Hammerson on the delivery of its WestQuay Watermark scheme in Southampton.

Previous projects completed by the company for Hammerson include Cabot Circus in Bristol and Highcross in Leicester.

The development won Bronze at the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards 2016.
