<p>At that time, laptop music was unusual. They look like they&#8217;re doing their homework or something, they said. How times change!</p>
<p>The screenshot above is a partially-working port of the old Mac carbon version of the program, running through QuickTime Music Architecture.</p>
<p>Below, is the work-in-progress rewrite, built using the excellent cross-platform <a href="http://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/juce/">JUCE</a> library. It almost makes C++ tolerable!</p>

<p>It&#8217;s clunky but functional, and uses the modern platform MIDI services, CoreMIDI in the case of Mac OS X. Also, it&#8217;s much more expansive in its screen occupation, showing several sequences at once. Why not?</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll write about the feature set soon, and post an early download.</p>
